Play settings can be set for each individual song. Once set they can be saved with the
MP3 File and can be used whenever the file is played. The original recording is NOT
altered and the settings can be changed at any time. There are six parameters that can be
changed. For dance music it is often crucial that these be set correctly.
There can be enormous differences in the volume from one song to the next. The default
volume of the player is 20%. This means that, if need be, a song whose volume is too low
could be increased up to five times it’s original volume.
Dance music should be within a specified tempo for each genre. For example, a waltz has
three beats per measure and should have 28 – 30 measures per minute. This software
allows you adjust the Tempo WITHOUT changing the pitch.
See BPM / MPM for help it determining and adjusting the tempo.
Some songs have very long lead in times before the danceable portion starts. You can
skip over this just by setting the start time.
This is the time INTERVAL used to turn the volume up from zero to the requested level.
If you specify a start time it will probably sound better if the volume starts at zero at that
time and is turned up over a few second period.
Many songs are too long for dancing. Most Ballroom dances should be in the three-
minute range. A five-minute Quickstep is unacceptable. This allows you to shorten the
song by specifying the ending time. If possible it should be ended at a lull in the music.
Also, many MP3 files have many seconds of silence at the end of the file. These should
be removed. They disrupt the flow of the dance.
This is the time INTERVAL used to turn the volume down from the requested level to
zero. When a song is shortened it should be done so smoothly by having the volume
slowly turned down over a few second period.
Clicking this saves the settings with the MP3 File.
If this is selected all songs will be played with their saved settings.
If this is selected all songs will be played as recorded.
The times are automatically adjusted for tempo and will increase or decrease as the tempo
is changed. As such the user does not need to address this.
